Gleaner Life Insurance Society hosted the young women of PAL Mission
Emerald-Echo Arbor #742 of Gleaner Life Insurance Society hosted the young women of PAL Mission
(Preparing For Adult life) for an elegant dining experience at the Canton Woman's Club in Canton, Ohio. Craig Wright, Manager of the Canton Woman's Club, presented a formal five-course dinner replete with all of the stemware, china and silverware to enhance the evening--which was a lesson in manners and etiquette. Lillian Steele gave a talk on proper manners and etiquette for today's world. Charles Davis, President of Emerald-Echo Arbor, presented each young woman with a gift certificate from Macy's.
The PAL Mission program was incorporated in December
1996 as a non-profit, faith-based organization to provide
housing, life skills training and a myriad of support services
to young women who had "aged out:" of the foster care system
and were not prepared to live independently. The original
on-site program, fondly referred to as the PAL House, has
evolved into an umbrella agency which operates four
different programs, all of which provide housing and life skills
training to adolescent girls and homeless young adult women.
The participants of all of the programs must be employed
and be attending an educational program, if they have not
yet graduated from high school.
